Team Across Country
The RSM team partners with agencies across all 10 FEMA regions — supporting agents, strengthening NFIP Direct.
The Regional Sales Managers (RSM) team plays an important role in supporting the NFIP Direct program by partnering with agencies across all 10 FEMA regions. While the team does not sell policies directly, its focus is on making sure agents have the training, tools, and guidance they need to confidently offer and service flood insurance.
Through ongoing education, relationship building, and regional outreach, the team helps agents explain coverage, provide accurate quotes, and retain policies while staying aligned with FEMA requirements and evolving flood risks.
Team Quote
“The NFIP Direct Sales team works to ensure every agent has what they need to confidently promote and service flood insurance long before severe weather hits. We're focused on providing the right training, tools, and support so agents can help their policyholders stay protected when it matters most.”
Focused on Q3 Priorities
This quarter, the Sales team is working closely with IT and development to enhance Odyssey and strengthen reporting capabilities. Accurate, accessible regional quote and sales data is essential to supporting the NFIP Direct program.
Key priorities include increasing Agent Registry participation, strengthening agent engagement, and conducting targeted outreach to agencies along the West Coast in response to anticipated flooding concerns associated with the ongoing El Niño cycle.
The team is also focused on improving agency data for NFIP Direct. With agency information frequently changing, keeping records accurate and up to date is an important part of supporting agents effectively.
Additional efforts include monitoring monthly FIRM revision impacts, supporting proactive outreach to affected agents, and tracking Out-to-In map changes across the country.

Progress Across All 10 FEMA Regions
The team has made significant progress this quarter, including completing a major data-cleanup effort that corrected missing or invalid information for more than 2,500 agencies across all 10 FEMA regions.
Agent education also remains a priority. The team continues to emphasize training under the Flood Insurance Reform Act of 2004, helping agents understand flood risk, coverage limitations, and policy requirements while supporting their continuing education needs.
The Sales team has also expanded education around system navigation, task management, ACH setup, and quoting flexibility. Recent improvements to agent and portal messaging, system functionality, and reporting accuracy are helping create more reliable and efficient tools for agents across the NFIP Direct program.
One Team, Many Connections
Supporting NFIP Direct requires close collaboration across Taurus. The Sales team works with Agency Services to maintain accurate agency information and streamline onboarding, while partnering with Underwriting on coverage guidance, rating questions, and policy accuracy.
The team also works closely with Compliance to ensure training, communication, and outreach align with federal requirements. Customer Service helps address agent and policyholder questions, while Accounting supports billing, payment, and reporting needs.

Looking Ahead
The RSM team is looking ahead to continued growth in agent education and awareness around the importance of flood insurance. A key focus is growing policies in force across NFIP Direct by helping agents feel confident and prepared to discuss flood coverage proactively, often before their clients think to ask.
As the team moves forward, it will continue strengthening relationships with agents, expanding outreach, and elevating awareness of flood risk so customers have the information they need well before severe weather arrives.
The goal is simple: support every agent with the knowledge, tools, and resources they need to help their policyholders make informed decisions about flood protection.
